“I want to be a vet when I grow up - to help sick animals get better.”

Chris joined Mt Pleasant School in 2011 and has helped guide the school and community through many challenges and successes. After years of groundwork, Chris is excited about the opportunities that now lie ahead with our new buildings.

“When I grow up, I want to be an astronaut. I just want to see what it would be like somewhere out of this world! If I could choose, I would make the school look like a jungle!”

Carl is excited to see our community engaging so well around Mahuri Collective. “Our School deserves all of the special things that help make Mt Pleasant an inspirational place for our Children to learn.”

“If I had a million dollars, I would plant more plants, build a school hall and make the school pool bigger!”

“I love the fact that the teachers and staff at Mt Pleasant are really engaged, and they really try to find out what the kids are interested in and try to connect with the kids. The school could probably use a few more buildings and perhaps expand on the playground equipment.”

“Vanessa is an incredible personality at Mt Pleasant. Once a student at MPS herself, Vanessa is now a Mother of two students at MPS and has herself become a primary school teacher.”

“One of the reasons I moved here is that I was really impressed with the staff - the collegiality, support and experience was second to none. A good hall would be fantastic for us and I believe that is on the cards, so really looking forward to that.”

“When I grow up, I want to be a vet because I love animals. If Mt Pleasant School had lots of money I would love a new football field and a hundred dogs and cats!”

Marty brought our community together through the challenging years of the earthquakes and more than most of us has helped to cement Mt Pleasant School at the very heart of our community. Much of what we have today, is thanks to Marty and the team he built around him.

“The Mt Pleasant ‘Magic’ is what sets this school apart from others. I’d like to see the classrooms upgraded with more modern equipment.”
